Nawa (ropes) were used by Samurai and Edo period police to restrain their opponent because handcuffs had yet to be invented.
Our ropes are approximately 5m long with one end tied with a loop ready to use.
The ends are spliced to create stronger resilience during use.
These are almost the same as used in Masaki Ryu Hojojutsu

Animal - Seiryu, 青龍 - Dragon
Season - Haru, 春 - Spring
Red ropes
Direction - 南 - South
Animal - Sujakiu - 朱雀 - Red Bird, Vermilion Phoenix
Season - Natsu - 夏 - Summer,
